Who we are

Check Your Landlord (landlords.nomug.ai) is run by NoMug, an independent consumer-advocacy project. It is not the Housing Ombudsman. Contact: corrections@nomug.ai.

What we don’t do

  • No cookies, no advertising, no cross-site tracking and no accounts.
  • No analytics. We do not count or profile visitors.
  • We never sell data.
  • This site makes no requests to other companies’ servers. Its fonts and images are served from this site.

What we process

  • Visits. Cloudflare, our host, processes your IP address, browser details and the pages you request, to deliver the site and protect it from attack. It acts on our behalf. Lawful basis: legitimate interests.
  • Your device. The search page can remember up to five landlords you looked at, so you can go back to them. The list is kept in your browser’s storage (not a cookie). It never leaves your device. “Forget this list” on the search page clears it.
  • Emails. If you email us, we use your name, email address and message to reply and to correct our data. Lawful basis: legitimate interests. We are not the Housing Ombudsman, so please don’t send us details of your complaint.
  • Rulings. The Ombudsman publishes rulings without residents’ names. If you think an excerpt on this site could identify you, tell us and we will hide it within 2 working days while we check.

Transfers

Cloudflare, Inc. is based in the USA. Transfers rely on the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, with the Information Commissioner’s International Data Transfer Addendum as a fallback.

Your rights

You can ask for access to your information, or for it to be corrected, erased, restricted or given to you in a portable form, and you can object to how we use it. We reply within one month. We make no automated decisions about you.

Complaints

Please contact us first at corrections@nomug.ai. We acknowledge complaints within 30 days. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office: ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint, phone 0303 123 1113.
