Accessibility statement

Last tested 20 October 2026. We test every release before it goes live.

Automated testing. We ran axe-core 4.14.0 in Chromium 141.0.7390.37 against the WCAG 2.0, 2.1 and 2.2 level A and AA rules. That was 204 checks in all: 31 views and states of the search and landlord pages, and 20 of the simple pages (13 landlord pages, the landlords A to Z, the methods, about, privacy, corrections and accessibility pages, and the “page not found” page). Each was checked in light and dark mode, on a phone-sized screen (390 pixels wide) and a desktop screen (1,280 pixels wide).

Result. axe found no serious or critical issues. It reported no other issues.

Other checks for this release. We checked that the search box works with the keyboard alone (typing, the arrow keys and Enter), and that the views we tested load without errors on both screen sizes.

Known issues.

• The “Who runs it” link under the header is 32 pixels tall. That is above the WCAG 2.2 AA minimum of 24 pixels, but below the 44 pixels we use for other controls.
• The “Mentions damp or mould” tick box is 22 pixels across. Its label and the row around it can also be tapped, so the area you can tap is larger.
• Links inside sentences are the size of the text around them.

Not yet tested. Automated tools find only some problems. We have not yet tested this release with a screen reader such as NVDA or VoiceOver, or with people who use assistive technology. If something does not work for you, please tell us.
